Yemen TPS to End on May 4, 2026
TITLE: Yemen TPS to End on May 4, 2026
WHAT HAPPENED: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) decided that Yemen no longer meets the conditions for Temporary Protected Status (TPS). The Secretary is ending the TPS program for Yemen, effective May 4, 2026.
WHO IT AFFECTS: Nationals of Yemen (and people without a nationality who last lived in Yemen) who currently have TPS under Yemen’s designation.
WHAT TO DO NOW: After May 4, 2026, you will no longer have TPS. You will lose the protection from deportation and the permission to work that TPS gives you. Before that date, you should plan to leave the United States or explore if you qualify for a different immigration status. Speak with an immigration attorney as soon as possible to understand your options.
